Litter I

Our first litter of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies (the "A" litter) was born in 1989.  Back then Cavaliers were only registered with the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club-USA and we were a member of that organization.  Cavaliers could not show in breed ring competition at the AKC shows, but we did compete in the Miscellaneous Classes as well as obedience trials with our dogs.  We also showed our Cavaliers in Rare Breed Shows with great success.

We have always bred classic Cavalier King Charles Spaniels that conform to the "Breed Standard" in type and are blessed with the most desirable "Comforter" temperament. In our opinion, if you don't have a sweet, loving, happy and friendly Cavalier then there is a serious fault of personality trait and that should not be passed along to any future generations.

Chelsea (from our "C" litter) owned by my sister Donna, lived to the ripe old age of 15 and 1/2 years old. Chelsea, like her sire, was a certified Therapy Dog and she was a wonderful example of a healthly and happy Currey Cavalier all the days of her life.

Daddy-Man

Donna Hopson lives in St. Charles, Missouri and is a founding member of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of Greater St. Louis. Her first Cavalier was Currey Lady Chelsea, a darling Tri-Color girl from our "C" litter. Donna and Chelsea completed the SUPPORT DOGS, INC. T.O.U.C.H. (Therapy of Unique Canine Helpers) Program course to become a Certified Therapy Dog Team. During their volunteer work, they visited many residents and patients of health care facilities in the St. Louis area sharing the "comfort" of a loving Cavalier. Chelsea was a second generation Therapy Dog being sired by Christine's first Cavalier T.O.U.C.H. Dog "Caruaidd Ship Ahoy", Canine Good Citizen. Ch. Voncross Connor For Currey received his AKC Canine Good Citizen Award under Donna's training. He reigns supreme at the Hopson Home and is our Top Sire. Donna has selected one of Connor's daughters from our Ch. Fleetstreet Cameo For Currey to join her family. Look for this new addition, Currey Calla Lilly, in the show ring later on this year.
